Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong told the "corrupt politicians" that they have no place in their city because of their residents who are good at wooing politicians.
"Citizens of other provinces, cities, and municipalities look up to the City of Baguio. Let us not allow corrupt politicians, thieves... Lying politicians, destroy that reputation. This served as a lesson to all those corrupt politicians... They cannot play the minds of the Baguio people," he promised in a flag ceremony message last May 26, 2025 at Baguio City Hall.
Magalong received several death threats after he said there was corruption in the General Appropriations Act (GAA) 2025.
