NEWS UPDATE: Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle has been named the new titular Cardinal-Bishop of Albano, a position once held by Pope Leo XIV before his election as the 267th pontiff of the Catholic Church.
The announcement follows Tagle’s confirmation on May 10 that he, along with other Roman Curia leaders, would remain in office after being reappointed by the newly elected pope.
Albano is one of the seven suburbicarian dioceses surrounding Rome. The others include Ostia, Velletri-Segni, Porto-Santa Rufina, Frascati, Palestrina, and Sabina-Poggio Mirteto.
